Website: https://edemagbottah.com/

1. Introduction

Welcome to Edem Agbottah’s website.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of https://edemagbottah.com/ and the guitar lessons and related services offered through the website.

By accessing this website, contacting us, booking a lesson, or using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the website and refrain from booking or using our services.

In these Terms and Conditions, the words “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Edem Agbottah, and “you” and “your” refer to the website visitor, student, parent, or legal guardian using the website or services.

Please read these terms carefully before booking lessons.

2. About Our Services

Edem Agbottah provides guitar lessons for students with different levels of musical experience, including beginners and more experienced players.

Our services may include:

  • Individual guitar lessons.

  • In-person guitar lessons in Denver, Colorado, and surrounding areas, subject to availability.

  • Online guitar lessons through Google Meet or another designated platform.

  • Instruction tailored to a student’s musical interests, experience, and learning goals.

  • Lesson scheduling and related educational support.

The availability, duration, format, location, and pricing of lessons may vary.

Specific lesson arrangements will be communicated during the inquiry or booking process.

3. Eligibility and Parental Responsibility

Individuals may inquire about lessons and use our services in accordance with applicable law.

Students under the age of 18 should have a parent or legal guardian arrange or authorize lessons where required.

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for providing accurate contact information, assisting with scheduling, and overseeing a child’s participation as appropriate for the child’s age and circumstances.

Where a parent or legal guardian books lessons on behalf of a minor, they agree to these Terms and Conditions on the minor’s behalf to the extent permitted by law.

We reserve the right to request parental or guardian authorization where reasonably necessary.

4. Booking and Scheduling

Lesson bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.

Submitting an inquiry or requesting a lesson does not automatically guarantee a booking.

A lesson will be considered confirmed when the booking details have been agreed upon and any required confirmation or payment conditions have been satisfied.

You agree to provide accurate information when requesting or arranging lessons, including your contact details and preferred schedule.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate scheduling preferences but cannot guarantee availability at a particular date or time.

Any changes to a confirmed booking should be communicated as early as possible.

5. Lesson Fees and Payments

Lesson fees will be communicated through the website, during the inquiry process, or through another agreed communication channel.

Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for paying the applicable fees for the lessons you book.

Where advance payment is required, the booking may not be confirmed until the payment has been received.

Payment methods, deadlines, and any applicable taxes or additional charges will be communicated before payment is due.

If payment is not received by an agreed deadline, we may postpone or cancel the relevant lesson after providing reasonable notice where appropriate.

We will communicate any changes to lesson pricing before they apply to future bookings.

6. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Missed Lessons

We understand that unexpected circumstances can affect lesson schedules.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please contact us as early as possible.

The following general conditions apply:

  • Advance notice: Students should provide reasonable advance notice when requesting a cancellation or rescheduling.

  • Rescheduling: Alternative times may be offered subject to availability.

  • Late cancellations: Cancellations made shortly before a scheduled lesson may not qualify for a refund or replacement lesson if a cancellation policy has been communicated and agreed upon in advance.

  • Missed lessons: Failure to attend a scheduled lesson without notice may be treated as a missed lesson.

  • Instructor cancellations: If we cancel a confirmed lesson, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternative time or provide an appropriate refund for a prepaid lesson that is not delivered.

  • Technical difficulties: If an online lesson cannot proceed because of a significant technical issue, we will consider reasonable alternatives, including rescheduling where appropriate.

Any specific cancellation or rescheduling policy communicated during booking will form part of the relevant lesson arrangement, provided it is consistent with applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Refund Policy

Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the booking, the services purchased, and applicable law.

Unless otherwise agreed or required by law:

  1. Payments for lessons that have already been delivered are generally not refundable.

  2. Refund requests for prepaid lessons that have not been delivered will be reviewed based on the booking terms and circumstances.

  3. If we are unable to deliver a confirmed prepaid lesson and cannot agree on a suitable replacement, an appropriate refund may be provided for the undelivered lesson.

  4. Approved refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method where possible.

  5. Any applicable refund processing time will depend on the payment provider or financial institution.

Please contact us if you have a question about a payment or wish to request a refund.

No provision of these Terms and Conditions excludes any refund rights provided by applicable law.

8. Online Guitar Lessons

Online lessons may be delivered through Google Meet or another agreed video-conferencing platform.

Students participating in online lessons are responsible for maintaining a suitable learning environment and having access to the necessary equipment, including:

  • A guitar suitable for the lesson.

  • A reliable internet connection.

  • A compatible computer, tablet, or smartphone.

  • A functioning microphone and speakers or headphones.

  • Any learning materials communicated in advance.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide online instruction as scheduled, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service because of internet outages, third-party platform issues, device failures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If a technical problem significantly interrupts a lesson, we will consider reasonable options, such as continuing later, rescheduling, or another mutually agreed arrangement.

Third-party platforms are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

9. In-Person Lessons

In-person lessons are subject to location, scheduling, and availability arrangements agreed upon before the lesson.

Students and parents or legal guardians, where applicable, are responsible for arriving at the agreed location on time.

Students should follow reasonable safety instructions and respect the property and facilities where lessons take place.

If a lesson takes place at a student’s home or another private location, the parties should agree on the relevant arrangements in advance.

Parents or legal guardians should make appropriate supervision arrangements for minors, including transportation and arrival or departure, as needed.

Any special requirements concerning the lesson location should be communicated before the booking is confirmed.

10. Student Conduct and Responsibilities

Students are expected to behave respectfully during lessons and communicate appropriately with the instructor.

Students should:

  • Arrive on time or join online lessons promptly.

  • Treat the instructor and other individuals respectfully.

  • Follow reasonable lesson instructions.

  • Bring the necessary instruments and learning materials.

  • Inform us of scheduling issues or relevant learning requirements.

  • Use online meeting platforms responsibly.

We reserve the right to discontinue a lesson or refuse future bookings in cases of serious misconduct, harassment, abusive behavior, or other reasonable grounds.

Where appropriate, we will communicate the issue to the student or their parent or legal guardian.

Any decision to discontinue lessons will be handled consistently with applicable law and any applicable refund obligations.

11. Learning Outcomes and Educational Disclaimer

Our guitar lessons are designed to help students develop their musical knowledge, technique, confidence, and playing skills.

Individual results may vary based on factors including practice time, prior experience, learning preferences, attendance, and individual progress.

We do not guarantee that every student will achieve a particular skill level, examination result, performance outcome, or professional opportunity within a specified period.

Students are encouraged to practise regularly and communicate their learning goals so that lessons can be adapted where reasonably possible.

Photographs, videos, audio recordings, testimonials, or other materials involving students may contain personal information.
